1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing or using Siivooja 2000 (the "Software") or visiting koodisto.org/siivooja2000 (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software or Site.

2. Licence — closed-source freeware

Siivooja 2000 is distributed as closed-source freeware. The compiled binary is provided to you free of charge under a non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free, revocable personal-use licence. You may install and use the Software on Macs that you own or control.

You may not:

• redistribute the binary, the DMG, or any modified version of either;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code — except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law (e.g. Article 6 of EU Directive 2009/24/EC, which permits decompilation for interoperability purposes);
• remove or alter the Koodisto Digital branding, copyright notices, About-window credits, or in-app attribution;
• bundle the Software with any other product, repackage it, or sell access to it;
• use the Software, its name or its visual style in a way that suggests endorsement by Koodisto Digital, Microsoft, or Apple.

The source code repository is private and is not made publicly available. Resource files distributed with the binary (rule databases, localisations, assets) are part of the Software and are covered by this licence.

3. Price & payment

Siivooja 2000 is provided free of charge as freeware. There is no purchase, subscription, in-app purchase, or licensing fee, and there is no obligation to pay anything. Optional donations may be solicited in future via Ko-fi or similar; donations are voluntary and do not entitle the donor to any warranty, support, or commercial right beyond what these Terms grant any user.

4. Disclaimer of warranty — "AS IS" / "AS AVAILABLE"

Disk-cleanup utilities by their nature touch many files. While Siivooja 2000 is engineered defensively (Trash never delete, 24-hour restore window, SIP path guard, whitelisted scanners, known-app risk badges), no software is bug-free and the Software cannot know which files matter to you. Always maintain a current backup (Time Machine or equivalent) before running disk-cleanup tools — this is true for any such tool, not just this one.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Koodisto Digital, its members, employees, contractors or affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages — including but not limited to damages for loss of data, loss of files, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of goodwill, business interruption, cost of substitute software or services, system downtime, or any other commercial or non-commercial losses — arising out of or in connection with the use of, the inability to use, or the results of using the Software or Site, regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, strict liability, statute or otherwise) and even if Koodisto Digital has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Where liability cannot be excluded by mandatory applicable law, Koodisto Digital's aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Software or Site shall be limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid for the Software, which for free use is €0, or (b) €5.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot be limited under mandatory applicable law (including the EU Digital Content Directive 2019/770 and Finnish consumer law).

6. User responsibility

By using the Software you confirm that:

• You alone decide which files to delete from Large & Old, Duplicates, Disk Map, App Uninstaller, and any other module that surfaces user files. The Software identifies candidates; you authorise the deletion.
• You maintain current backups of important data (Time Machine or equivalent).
• You are responsible for granting and revoking Full Disk Access and other macOS permissions, and for understanding what those permissions allow the Software to do.
• You understand that "Restore last cleanup" depends on macOS keeping items in the Trash, and that after the 24-hour Trash retention window items cannot be recovered through the Software.

7. Trademarks & third-party references

Siivooja 2000 uses a visual style inspired by the Windows 98 user interface as a tribute to that era of desktop computing. Windows 98, the Windows 98 user interface and related visual elements are trademarks and/or copyrighted works of Microsoft Corporation. Siivooja 2000 is not developed by, affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Microsoft Corporation.

macOS, Apple, Apple Silicon, Sonoma and related marks are trademarks of Apple Inc. Siivooja 2000 is an independent third-party application.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Software to access, modify or destroy data you do not own or have permission to manage. You agree not to attempt to circumvent the SIP-path safeguards or to use the Software in violation of applicable law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Software at any time by deleting the application. Koodisto Digital may discontinue providing the Software, the Site or any feature, with or without notice. These Terms remain in effect for past use.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute shall be brought before the courts of Helsinki, Finland, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.

11. Changes

Koodisto Digital may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect any change. Continued use of the Software or Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
